Half-way Point: 10 days w/o Facebook

Today marks the 5th day without the social network Facebook.

I have learned a few things:
  • Access: Simply - I found another way to get to Bejewled Blitz.
  • Socializing: Text messages feel more personal than IM.
  • Information: Restricted to a few items per day.
I've accessed Facebook once to update information for a non-profit organization's Fan Page and simultaneously respond to a personal invitation.

Since then:
  • No "likes"
  • No personal posts
The freedom is similar to the time I went cell-phone-free for many months... or, my car-free status now.

This experience has been both disconcerting and revealing.

10 Days w/o Facebook

I have decided that I need to take a break - 10 days without communicating on Facebook (sans my civic duties).

This decision is in part to prevent myself from saying anything that I will regret later.

I have let myself get to the point that people have gotten to me and I'm starting to break down.

To try to keep my sanity, I am giving myself space.

I will see you in 10 days.

Wish me luck.
